Product Description This presentation steak knife set makes a wonderful gift for first-time homeowners. Made of 18/10 stainless steel, the set includes eight serrated steak knives and a handsome wood presentation box.
Amazon.com Review As beautiful as they are functional, the steak knives in this eight-piece set beg for an elegant dinner of tenderloin steak or grilled lamb chops. These contemporary-looking knives have 4-1/2-inch serrated blades that are precision-forged of high-carbon 18/10 stainless steel for strength and longer edge retention. The stain- resistant blades are precision-forged to ensure precision slicing. Full tangs extend through the knives' sleek 18/10 polished stainless-steel handles for balance. The knives come packaged in a velvet-lined wooden presentation box with a mahogany stain. This set is perfect as a generous wedding gift and is covered by a lifetime warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

Sharp knives, nice look, good price June 29, 2010 Phillik On first inspection, I wondered if these would be good knives since they appeared no sharper than a butter knife. However, we used them right away for steaks, and they cut through them like butter. They were a good price, cut well, and look better on the table with your flatware than the large, bulky steak knives.
Great Knives, junky box June 17, 2010 Robert Thomas James (Chicago, IL) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I received these fantastic knives as a wedding gift in 2008. I love the knives as they are really beautiful I want to wear white cloth gloves with them when I use them because they are so shiney and perfect and I don't want to get my fingerprints on them! They aren't large and aren't clunky, but I always get compliments on them when I have company over. I use them in the dishwasher all the time and they have not lost their finish and beautiful shine at all.
5 stars for the knives themselves, but the box they came in is not nice at all and is falling apart after a year and a half of sparce usage. The box is of very low quality so don't expect a nice quality box. But thats probably why this set is so affordable. All in all, 4/5 stars I think is very fair, especially since you get some really nice knives for under a hundred bucks.
Excellent quality, versatile December 31, 2009 Liz in WA (WA, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am blessed with gorgeous (inherited) nouveau-style sterling flatware from the thirties, plus heavy (inherited) colonial-style silverplate from the early 1900s. I also have my own very practical stainless that goes in the dishwasher. Guess which we use every day? But these steak knives go with all of it. I've had four of them since the four-knife set was on sale for a song, several years ago. Today I'm purchasing the eight-knife set, since I'm tired of the bulky "other" steakhouse-style set we've been using. It doesn't look good with the silver. And, I don't care about the box; you should see the one my silverplate lives in!
These are the best steak knives ever. They even go through the dishwasher from time to time and so far they're still sharp. I also like the slender tip, since it's easier to get that last bit of porkchop from the bone.
Three days later: Okay, I just received the eight-knife set. There are some differences: the blade is 1/4" longer, and the handle is 1/2" longer. The handles are also squared-off at the end rather than semi-circular. This design makes them heavier... better for big hands, but less deceptively delicate-looking. They're more like my other Wusthof knives. I still like them (and my husband likes them better than the others) but these definitely are more workhorse than racehorse. They're not quite as pretty on the table, but the added heft makes up for it.
The box is better than I expected. I'll probably spray-flock the interior someday, since not all the inside of the box is stained and finished like the outside. No urgency, though, as I found the knives can't move around much once they're slotted in. I doubt the small bit of wood lifting the blade up off the bottom will dull the blades.
The box is quite pretty, actually.
pretty nice May 4, 2009 J. Rim (Palo Alto, CA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great knives. Has a nice heft to it and it feels comfortable in your hand. Makes even the toughest cuts of steak feel like it's made out of butter.
Not a fan of the box. It's completely made out of wood and you place the knives edge side down. I wonder if this will help to dull the knife faster?
Amazing knives September 3, 2008 A. Peters (Metro Detroit, MI USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We got these knives as a bridal shower gift in 2002 for our wedding from my great-aunt. We got the 8 piece set in the brown wooden box. True the box is not the greatest, but it doesn't really matter because the knives are what matter. The only reason tbe box matters is if you are giving the item as a gift, then of course you would want it to look ok (which ours did) but it doesn't have to hold up to much wear and tear. The box does what it is supposed to do. The knives seem to have a timeless classic and simple style that goes well with "fancy" or casual meals equally. We've used them at Christmas for prime-rib, mixed with our heirloom silver plated utensils, as well as with our everyday stainless. Not only are the knives good for steak, but also for chicken breasts. We are health-minded as well and yet it is nice to have these knives out when we have chicken, turkey, ham, etc. The kives are well balanced, attractive, sharp, and do a wonderful job at what they're supposed to, plus they look and feel good doing it! Yea!
