I thought J.A. Henckels knifes where a product of Germany August 20, 2010 Ken Dillard (Tx USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Love the knifes, extremely sharp and light weight.
I am pleased with them , was a little disappointed when
I looked on the knifes and it said made in China.
I looked and it never stated where they where made just
made from German S/S.
A good set for the kitchen July 31, 2010 Lisa Chaney (Sunnyvale) This has been a great set for our kitchen and our basic every day needs. Also the steak knives are great and comfortable in the hand.
Flimsy and rust! June 1, 2010 S. Chacon 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I looked at the reviews here and was skeptic at what people were doing with these knives to let them rust right away. Now I know that if you do not wipe these down every time you cut something, they will be in danger of rust.
I bought these paranoid of rust, and after an hour or so of use on the board, I had rinsed it off and dried with a clean paper towel. Sitting next to the sink until the next day, and hand washed this knife, I had put it away. No more than 3 days later, I grabbed this knife once again only to find rust spots in at least 4 places. I scrubbed to see if they were only surface Iron rust defects to only find out that they will not come off.
I had also seen the comments about quality in thickness, and was still surprised at the flimsy quality out of the box. I know that not all knives are strong or have a good feel, but these felt as cheap as steak knives at Denny's.
What a horrible experience for what I thought was considered a great knife company. I have not seen this poor of quality in items bought at locals stored for ~$30 sets.
Returned the set May 25, 2010 S. Dixon (Gainesville, FL) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
None of the santoku knives had the little round divits cut out along the side. A pretty big error for a company with their reputation. The assortment for the price was not that great and the handles felt like they wouldn't last. I bought JC Penney "Cooks" brand knife block and got a fabulous assortment of super sharp knives on sale for $99 and they are sharp and fabulous.
RUSTED!!! April 29, 2010 Julia A. Watson (Houston, TX) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
These are supposed to be stainless steel, but they rusted the first time I ran them through the dishwasher!!! All of them did!
