This pot is beautiful. I use it thrice a week. I've had it for a year. It's still as slippery as my first wife. Now, I'm no pot expert... But I know good pot when I see it. I like that this has two handles, because I have two hands. Sometimes I hold it with one hand, and in my other hand I use a silicone spatula, to scrape the sauce out. I like to get all the sauce out, as the ladies tend to like extra sauce on my noodle. Sometimes on rice. Like with asians. Or black beans, for black bean tacos. (I make chili in the crock pot. I use grass-fed beef for the omega-3s. I like black beans in my chili too. Goat cheddar on top, because it has less casin, which is what they put in cow milk to make us sneeze.) The glass lid on the top gets steamy when it's on, but I wiggle it a little, and I can peak inside. Calphalon, Calphalon, Calphalon, makes the best pot in the world. You owe it to youself to try some. Thank you.
Simply Calphalon Nonstick 5-Quart Chili Pot August 8, 2010

This is my second Calphalon Nonstick 5-Quart Chili Pot--we wore out the first one...to my family, this is the perfect size pot: it fits our old, limited area ceramic top stove perfectly; not only works well for cooking chili, but even better for certain one pot meals that require extra depth room for liquid and vegetables. You can't go wrong with this pot and the fact it's non-stick is a bonus.

I had 2 Calphalon Contemporary saucepans and they are great. So I decided to order another Calphalon pot. I didn't pay attention so I order 'Simply Calphalon' instead of 'Contemporary Calphalon'. I can tell the quality of the nonstick coat for the Simply model is not as good the Contemporary one. I cook pretty everything in this pot, including pasta with tomato sauce. Everything is working well so far. I will update my review next year!

Add me to the list of "Chili Pot" lovers. I was so impresses by this product that I bought four and gave them as gifts. I have had the original chili pot with the metal lid for years and use it almost daily. I have to admit though, the glass lid is a vast improvement over what is an excellecnt product in the first place. I have even made a pineapple upsidedown cake in mine... even though getting the cake out was slightly touchy (and crumbly). The possibilities with this pot are endless. 5+ stars.

The pot is very nice. As Jim Carey in the Mask would say, "It's smokin'!" I never turn the burner up past the half way mark with any of the Calphalon cookware. The lid fits the 11" frying pan, also, which is nice.
